Siemens Gamesa: wins deal for Dutch wind power project

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa has won an order from Swedish utility group Vattenfall to supply approximately 140 wind turbines for a wind farm off the Dutch coast.


The award concerns Siemens Gamesa's upgraded version of the Direct Drive offshore wind turbine SG DD-193, which now has the potential to reach a capacity of 11 MW, the companies said.

Vattenfall will act as launching customer to pioneer Siemens Gamesa's most powerful offshore wind turbine so far, the companies announced at the WindEurope offshore conference in Copenhagen.

In 2018, a permit was awarded to Vattenfall to build Hollandse Kust Zuid 1&2 wind farm.

In 2019, Vattenfall won the tender to build zones three and four of the project.
