SAP: sells cloud communications unit to Sweden's Sinch

(CercleFinance.com) - German enterprise software maker SAP has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its cloud communications business to Sweden's Sinch for 225 million dollars in cash.


The SAP Digital Interconnect (SDI) unit offers cloud-based communications products, serving over 1,500 technology companies, banks, retail brands and mobile operators.

It processes enterprise-targeted API-based messages for omnichannel customer engagement through SMS, push, email, WhatsApp, WeChat and Viber.

SAP also said on Tuesday that it has identified that some of its cloud products do not meet security standards, meaning that the company will inform affected customers individually - approximately 9% of its 440,000 customer base.
