Continental: inaugurates facility in South Carolina

(CercleFinance.com) - Continental Tire the Americas (Continental) today officially opened a new, sustainably designed facility in Fort Mill, South Carolina.


The 90,000-square-foot (over 8300 m2) state-of-the-art building, located in northern Lancaster County, can accommodate 350 employees and is designed and built for future expansion potential.

Who would have imagined, when we moved to En South Carolina in 2009, that we would have invested over $800m in our facilities across the state, Continental said.

The US is a strategic growth market for Continental and in particular for our Tires business, it added.

Outside, the parking area includes 10 charging stations for electric vehicles and motorcycles. A total of 840 solar panels are located on the roof and in the parking lot, helping to offset up to 25% of the building's total energy consumption.
