Roche: unveils new messaging service for diabetes patients
(CercleFinance.com) - Roche presented on Thursday a messaging-based service to support people with type 2 diabetes starting on once-daily, long-acting insulin therapy.
The Swiss drugmaker's "InsulinStart" service has been designed to ease the transition from oral antidiabetics to a complementary long-acting insulin therapy, the group said.
Based on algorithms, the service helps patients during the phase of finding the optimum long-acting insulin dose to be injected once a day, Roche said.
Via text message, they receive a blood glucose testing reminder in the morning and an insulin dose recommendation in the evening.
The announcement was made at the International Conference on Advanced Technologies & Treatments for Diabetes (ATTD) in Madrid.
