USA: growth slows more than expected
(CercleFinance.com) - US gross domestic product (GDP) grew at an annualized rate of 1.
6% in the first quarter of 2024, according to a very first estimate from the Commerce Department, growth that was around one point below economists' expectations.
Growth in the world's leading economy is therefore slowing sharply compared with the 3.4% recorded in the last quarter of 2023, a deceleration driven by consumer and government spending, as well as exports.
