Airbus: deliveries and orders up in April

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus announced on Tuesday that it had delivered and sold more aircraft in April than in April last year, thereby confirming the favourable commercial momentum that it is currently experiencing.

This morning the European group reported that 61 aircraft were delivered to 33 customers over the past month, compared with 54 units delivered to 32 customers a year ago.

This figure represents around a 13% y-o-y increase.

Over the first four months of the year, Airbus says it has recorded 203 deliveries, compared with 181 over the same period in 2013, over 12% higher.

Regarding contracts, the aircraft manufacturer says it booked 57 gross orders in April, up sharply on the five gross orders recorded a year ago.

Airbus has set itself the target of delivering some 800 commercial aircraft this year, compared with 735 last year, and is counting on a pick-up in activity from H2 onwards.

Following this announcement, the share price advanced by 0.7%, just outperforming the CAC 40 index (+0.6%).
