Solvay: joint venture project in Taiwan
(CercleFinance.com) - The Belgian chemicals group Solvay has announced the creation, with Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Corporation, of a new joint venture in Taiwan, Shinsol Advanced Chemicals, for the development, production and marketing of high quality hydrogen peroxide for electronics.
Located near the Southern Taiwan Science Park, near Tainan, this company will have an initial production capacity of 30,000 tonnes of peroxide per year - which may be increased later - depending on market demand.
The joint venture is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2023. Solvay and Shinkong intend to complete the transaction in the second half of 2021, pending regulatory approvals in Taiwan and other countries.
