Wolters Kluwer: US acquisition in AI for healthcare
(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday evening Wolters Kluwer announced that it had completed the acquisition of Invistics, a US software developer specialising in the monitoring of drug diversion and the control of controlled substances.
Invistics' main solution, Flowlytics, uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help detect illicit drug diversion in hospitals and outpatient surgery centres.
One study estimates that between 10% and 15% of healthcare professionals will one day abuse drugs or alcohol, costing the US healthcare system some $70bn a year.
Founded in 1999 in Atlanta, Invistics is to join the Dutch publisher's surveillance, compliance and clinical data division.
