Twitter: agrees acquisition by Elon Musk

(CercleFinance.com) - Twitter has announced that it has reached a definitive agreement for its acquisition by Elon Musk, for 54.
20 dollars per share, in cash, i.e. a transaction that is worth about 44 billion dollars.

Under the terms of the agreement, Twitter shareholders will receive 54.20 dollars in cash for each Twitter common share they own upon closing of the proposed transaction. The purchase price represents a 38% premium to the Twitter's closing price on 1 April 2022.

Bret Taylor, Twitter's Independent Board Chair, said, "The Twitter Board conducted a thoughtful and comprehensive process to assess Elon's proposal with a deliberate focus on value, certainty, and financing. The proposed transaction will deliver a substantial cash premium, and we believe it is the best path forward for Twitter's stockholders."
