Moderna: Q2 sales up but earnings down

(CercleFinance.com) - Moderna has reported Q2 2022 sales of 4.
75 billion dollars, up from 4.35 billion dollars in Q2 2001.

However, due to the higher cost of sales and increased R&D spending, pre-tax profit fell to 2.47 billion dollars in Q2 2022, from 3 billion dollars in Q2 2021.

The company reported Q2 earnings of 2.2 billion dollars, vs. 2.78 billion dollars a year earlier.

EPS came in at 5.24 dollars (versus 6.46 dollars the year before), above the consensus.

Moderna also announced a new 3 billion dollar share buyback plan and said it had four infectious disease vaccine candidates in Phase 3 of clinical trials.
