Mobileye: solid 4th quarter, but targets disappoint
(CercleFinance.com) - Mobileye reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter results on Thursday, but its outlook for the new financial year came in below expectations.
The autonomous driving and driver assistance specialist, which belongs to the Intel Group, posted a net loss of $71 million for the last three months of 2024, compared with a profit of 63 million euros a year earlier.
Excluding exceptional items, the Israeli group posted adjusted net earnings of $107 million, or $0.13 a share, against a consensus target of $0.11.
Sales rose by 23% to $490 million, compared with the average analyst forecast of $478 million.
Although the company expects a return to growth this year, with sales of between $1.69 and $1.81 billion, compared with $1.65 billion in 2024, these targets fall short of Wall Street's estimates of nearly $2 billion.
Its operating loss is expected to be between $489 and $574 million, compared with a shortfall of more than $3.2 billion for the 2024 financial year.
Following this publication, Mobileye shares listed on the Nasdaq lost around 2% on Thursday morning in early trading.
