Johnson & Johnson: launches new centre in Cape Town

(CercleFinance.com) - Johnson & Johnson has announced the launch of the J&J Satellite Centre at the University of Cape Town's Holistic Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D) in Cape Town, South Africa, with a focus on antimicrobial resistance.


It is the latest expansion of the J&J Centres, a global network of collaboration between the company and leading research institutions to address some of the world's most pressing health challenges.

H3D's satellite centre will work to find new solutions to the current and growing threat of antimicrobial resistance, with a focus on multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria (MDR-GNB).

Investing to increase innovation capacity in Africa is essential to strengthen research and development for current and emerging global health challenges, the group said.
