GE: Trian Fund Management increases its stake

(CercleFinance.com) - Nelson Peltz's Trian Fund Management has raised its stake in GE, as the shares of the US industrial company gained 77% over the past six months.


The recent investment has brought Trian's position to almost 33 million shares at end-2020, according to the fund's latest quarterly report. By comparison, Trian owned about 32 million shares at the end of the third quarter.

The recent buying would bring the value of the stake in GE to roughly 350 million dollars, from about 200 million dollars three months earlier.

Trian also revealed that it increased its stake in TV giant Comcast from 723 million dollars to 1.04 billion dollars.

However, the activist fund sold off a small position in Procter & Gamble, with a stake that is now just under 1.4 billion dollars.

All these disclosures were made last Friday in a SEC filing, mandatory for major money managers.
