Ford: US sales up 13% in August
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday, Ford announced a 13% increase in vehicle sales in August in the United States, once again driven by the success of its F-Series pickup range.
The second-largest American automaker said it sold 182,985 cars last month, compared with 161,300 in August 2023.
In detail, deliveries of large models from the F-Series family totaled 70,701 units, up 11.7% from 63,287 the previous month.
The Explorer also enjoyed undeniable success: 16,893 models of this SUV were sold last month, compared with 8,572 a year earlier, a leap of 97.1%.
In terms of powertrains, sales of hybrid vehicles (+49.8%) proved the most dynamic in August, ahead of electric vehicles (+28.9%) and combustion-powered cars (+9.9%).
After ten minutes of trading on Wall Street, Ford shares were down by around 1%, while the S&P 500 index advanced by 0.1%.
