Ford: further investments in UK
(CercleFinance.com) - Ford has announced a further 125 million pound investment in its Halewood plant in the UK and a 24 million pound investment in E:Prime, its product development centre.
The investments are part of its strategy to electrify its range and bring the total investment in Halewood to 380 million pounds to build electric vehicle components.
This increases Halewood's electric motor manufacturing capacity from 230,000 to 420,000 units per year (+70%). Ford also states that 70% of the 600,000 vehicles that it will sell in Europe by 2026 will be powered by technology produced in Halewood.
These investments are also part of the company's overall plan to produce two million EVs per year by 2026.
