ExxonMobil: starts up plastic recycling facility
(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday evening ExxonMobil announced the successful start-up of one of the largest advanced recycling facilities in North America, located within its integrated Baytown, Texas, complex.
Using proprietary technology to break down hard-to-recycle plastics and turn them into raw materials for new products, it is capable of processing over 36 million kg of plastic waste per year. ExxonMobil plans to build advanced recycling facilities at some of its other sites worldwide, which would give it the capacity to process up to one billion pounds of plastic waste per year by the end of 2026.
