AMD: $20 million invested in Absci

(CercleFinance.com) - AMD will invest $20 million in Absci, announced Wednesday the Canadian company specialized in AI-driven drug discovery.


The Vancouver-based company specifies that the operation will take the form of a PIPE (private investment in public equity) capital increase, i.e. a private investment in the capital of a listed company.

Under the terms of this strategic collaboration, Absci will use AMD Instinct gas pedals to boost the performance of its workloads, as well as the ROCm software platform designed by the chipmaker.

In a press release, Absci explains that it intends in particular to deploy AMD's tools as part of its research into the development of new antibody models.
