Ericsson: signs MoU with Telefónica
(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson and Telefónica have signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of Cloud RAN based on Open RAN architecture.
Telefónica and Ericsson will deploy Cloud RAN sites with a high degree of automation, adopting approaches in line with best practices in cloud ecosystems. Telefónica said that collaboration brings together the best of both organisations, enabling it to leverage the latest advances in virtualisation and cloud technologies. Meanwhile, Ericsson said that this collaboration with Telefónica aims to accelerate the development and deployment of cloud-native open networks.
