Ericsson: agreement with TIM on 5G

(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson announced today that it has been selected by TIM to provide a dual-mode 5G core that will enable TIM to modernise its current EPC and introduce the new standalone 5G in a single native cloud solution.


The transition to autonomous 5G will enable TIM to offer higher data transfer rates and ultra-low latency as it deploys equipment across the country.

With autonomous 5G, it will be possible to enable a range of innovative services that require high performance, low latency and maximum security, as well as the network slicing functionality that will allow mobile operators to monetise network quality, Ericsson said.
