Equinor: awards helicopter contract to Lufttransport RW

(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor announces that it has awarded Lufttransport RW AS the operation of five new Leonardo AW189 helicopters for passenger transport on the Norwegian continental shelf from Sola and Florø.


This initiative is part of a program to diversify the helicopter models in service, following the agreement signed last year for the acquisition of 15 aircraft, including 10 Bell 525s expected by 2026.

Ørjan Kvelvane, Equinor's senior vice-president for operations and maintenance in Norway, emphasizes that the new helicopters will enhance the safety and reliability of transport.

Lufttransport, renowned for its experience in Norwegian conditions, will also operate search and rescue missions for Equinor from 2026.
