Ahold Delhaize: acquisition of DEEN finalised

(CercleFinance.com) - The Belgo-Dutch food distribution group, Ahold Delhaize, announces that its main brand in the Netherlands, Albert Heijn, has finalised a transaction for the acquisition of DEEN with Vomar Voordeelmarkt and DekaMarkt.



This finalisation marks the start of the conversion of the 38 DEEN shops in North Holland, Flevoland, Gelderland and Overijssel to Albert Heijn shops. The first shop is set to open on 22 September in Avenhorn.

DEEN's intention to sell its supermarkets was announced on the 16th of February and approved by the Dutch competition authority on 9 July. The financial details have not been published and the group's financial orientation remains unchanged.
