ABN Amro: back to black in Q1

(CercleFinance.com) - ABN Amro has reported Q1 2022 operating profit of 1.
9 billion euros, up 5% y-o-y.

Operating profit reached 425 million euros, dwarfing the token 4 million euros in Q1 2021.

ABN Amro reported Q1 profit of 295 million euros, wiping out the 54 million euros loss recorded a year ago, as well as beating the consensus.

Management cautiously said that the world has changed dramatically over the last quarter. The war in Ukraine has shaken both security and stability, causing more economic uncertainty and high inflation.

These comments seem to have freaked the market, with the share down about 9% an hour into trading today.
