Altice Europe: SFR not up for sale, Alain Weill says

(CercleFinance.com) - In an interview with Les Echos, Alain Weill, CEO of Altice France (SFR, BFM TV, RMC, press division), has answered speculation, denying that SFR is up for sale.

Patrick Drahi (CEO and largest shareholder of Altice, ed) is absolutely not a seller, Weill says. SFR has a positive cash flow, and will continue with investments of 2.2 billion euros per year and that it will be able to meet all its obligations. We have no significant debt maturities before 2022, he repeats.

The boss of Altice France added that he notes that instead it is the two smaller telecom players that are now pushing for concentration. (...) he is convinced that, in any case, concentration will occur one day and that on that day, SFR will result as a larger and stronger entity.

The Altice Europe share is down over 7% in Amsterdam this morning.
