Unilever: acquisition in food supplements

(CercleFinance.com) - Unilever last night announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire Onnit, a US manufacturer of food supplements.


Onnit offers a range of products for sports nutrition, digestive enhancement and immune boosting, although its flagship product is "Alpha Brain", a supplement that promotes memory, concentration and mental performance, Unilever said.

The Anglo-Dutch consumer products giant said Onnit will remain based in Austin, Texas, with current CEO Jason Havey still in charge.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
