Airbus: two new satellites launched in the year
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has announced that the latest two satellites, 5 and 6, of the Pleiades Neo constellation, built, owned and operated by Airbus, are on track for launch later this year, after successful final tests in the clean rooms of Toulouse.
Both satellites are to be launched simultaneously on the European Vega C launcher from Kourou, French Guiana, Airbus says.
For this dual launch, Airbus space engineers have developed a smart and efficient adapter-less design, in which the satellites are stacked on top of each other, connected only by a clamping strip.
