Toyota: new investments in JASM

(CercleFinance.com) - Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation (SSS), DENSO Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation have announced new investments in Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing, (JASM), TSMC's majority-owned manufacturing subsidiary in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.


This investment will enable a second manufacturing plant to be built, scheduled for commissioning by the end of 2027.

Together with JASM's first manufacturing plant, scheduled for commissioning in 2024, the overall investment in JASM will exceed $20bn, with strong support from the Japanese government.

With these two plants, the Kumamoto site is expected to directly create over 3,400 high-tech professional jobs.
