GSK: positive US court ruling in Zantac case

(CercleFinance.com) - GSK announced on Wednesday morning that the US courts have ruled in its favour in the litigation over potential adverse effects of the antiulcer drug Zantac.


In an opinion issued last night, the federal judge in charge of the Multistate Litigation Panel (MDL) dismissed all cases relating to the drug's potential carcinogenic effects.

Its decision covers cases involving liver, bladder, pancreatic, esophageal and stomach cancers.

This is clearly a positive development for the defence, UBS analysts commented.
