Rolls-Royce: expands facilities for 'Aukus' contract

(CercleFinance.com) - Rolls-Royce today announced that WSP, a leading multi-disciplinary professional services consultancy, will be its design partner for the expansion of its Raynesway site in Derby, UK.


Roll-Royce intends to double the size of its submarine facility to meet the growing demand from the Royal Navy following the major 'Aukus' contract signed last year.

This increase in demand will result in the construction of new manufacturing and office facilities, and the creation of 1,170 skilled jobs in a variety of disciplines, including manufacturing and engineering.

The next step in Rolls-Royce's ten-year expansion program will be to select the construction partner who will bring WSP's designs to life.

This will involve building the manufacturing and office facilities, as well as the adjoining site infrastructure. The winning company will be announced in the coming weeks.
