Diageo: new financial year 'has started well'
(CercleFinance.com) - Diageo's 2020 fiscal year has "started well," the British drinks maker said in a statement on Thursday ahead of its annual shareholders' meeting.
The company - which aims at "quality sustainable growth" - said it continues to expect organic net sales growth to be around the middle of the 4%-to-6% range for its current fiscal year.
Organic growth in operating profit is expected to be roughly 1% ahead of organic net sales, it added.
However, Diageo warned that it would not be immune to significant changes to global trade policy, which it is keeping a close eye on.
Its shares are currently trading 0.3 percent lower in London.
