Orange: new transatlantic cable project
(CercleFinance.com) - Orange has announced signing a partnership for the AMITIÉ cable, which is set to be operational in early 2022.
After validation by local authorities in the US, the cable will link Massachusetts to Le Porge, a town near Bordeaux in France.
This new transatlantic cable will add to Google's Dunant cable, the landing of which was announced last March by Orange and which is now in service for wholesale and corporate customers.
"Both these cables will have more capacity than all existing systems currently in service on the transatlantic front," the group said, noting that they comprise 16 and 12 fiber pairs respectively.
