Volkswagen: increases stake in QuantumScape

(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen announced on Tuesday that it will invest up to 200 million dollars to increase its stake in the US battery specialist QuantumScape.


In a statement, the German automotive giant said that it wants to speed up the development of solid electrolyte batteries, which provide extended operating ranges and limited recharging times.

VW - which had already invested over 100 million dollars in QuantumScape - has been working with the Californian company on this type of technology in a joint venture that was created in 2018.
