TotalEnergies: QatarEnergy to join Lebanon project

(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies and Eni today announce that they have completed the transfer of a 30% interest in exploration blocks 4 and 9 offshore Lebanon to QatarEnergy, under agreements signed on 29 January in Beirut.


The French oil and gas group (operator) and its Italian partner will each retain a 35% stake, while QatarEnergy will hold the remaining 30%. They aim to drill an exploration well on Block 9 as soon as possible in 2023.

This new partnership expands the exploration collaboration between TotalEnergies and QatarEnergy and brings the number of countries in which the two companies are partners to nine.
