Eurofins: new PCR tests for Covid variants

(CercleFinance.com) - Eurofins announced on Thursday the launch of a PCR test for the rapid detection of new variants of concern of the Covid-19 virus.


The bioanalytical specialist explains that the GSD NovaType III test can identify the Indian B 1.617 variant, the American B.1.427/B.1.429 variants, the South African B.1.351 variant and the Brazilian P.1 mutation.

The test will be made available to researchers on 9 June, prior to a CE mark expected in the second half of June.

Eurofins says that it is continuously updating its product range to enable the screening and detection of emerging coronavirus variants.
