Eurofins: stronger sequencing in response to variants

(CercleFinance.com) - Eurofins announced on Tuesday that it is strengthening its genome sequencing capabilities in response to the worrying increase of Covid-19 variants.


Since the launch of its SARS-CoV-2 full viral genome sequencing service last December, the group says it has analysed more than 125,000 coronavirus samples from 23 countries.

In all, since the beginning of the pandemic, some 24 million PCR tests have been performed by the bioanalysis specialist.

Thanks to its recent investments, Eurofins now claims to be able to complete genome sequences in five days, with an estimated capacity of some 35,000 genomes per week.
