BBVA: share jumps after record results
(CercleFinance.com) - BBVA shares are up almost 6% today after the group announced record results.
Recurring revenues amounted to 5.4 billion euros in Q1 2022, i.e. 23.3% higher than in Q1 2021. Net interest income reached 4.16 billion euros, up 26.3% y-o-y.
Operating profit reached a new record of 3.53 billion euros (+31.9% y-o-y).
The Spanish bank reported net profit of 1.65 billion euros in Q1 2022 (+36.4% y-o-y at current exchange rates), up 41% y-o-y. This is the highest recurring profit ever recorded, up an impressive 68.4% relative to Q1 2021.
