adidas: selects Amazon Cloud subsidiary

(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud subsidiary of Amazon.
com, announced on Monday that adidas has selected it to provide the IT infrastructure for its SAP workloads.

Under the terms of the deal, the German sports equipment manufacturer will migrate its SAP environment to AWS via the adoption of the S/4HANA platform, SAP's next-generation smart ERP suite.

By running its "critical" workloads on AWS, adidas intends to digitise its main processes, with a view to developing its direct-to-consumer activities.
adidas also says it wants to help its designers run multiple complex workloads simultaneously while modernising its 3D design capabilities.

As the news is digested, Adidas shares are still down 0.8%, while Amazon shares are up by about this percentage in initial exchanges in New York.
