SAP: German regulator approves acquisition of WalkMe
(CercleFinance.com) - The German competition authority announced on Friday that it had approved the takeover of WalkMe, an Israeli digital adoption specialist, by SAP.
In a notice published on its website, the regulator justifies its opinion by the fact that the operation should not have a negative effect on the sector, which it considers to be particularly dynamic.
The Bundeskartellamt explains that its investigations have shown that the digital adoption market, which consists in accelerating the adoption of business applications by helping employees to better appropriate them, is currently booming and is set to continue growing.
Digital adoption is about enabling users not just to learn the basic functions of a given software, but also to master the more advanced functions.
SAP initially announced the acquisition of Tel Aviv-based WalkMe last June for around $1.5bn.
Europe's number one software company expects to finalize the deal in Q3.
