Merck KGaA: Q3 EPS down 23%

(CercleFinance.com) - For Q3 2023, Merck KGaA reports adjusted EPS (before exceptional items) that is has fallen 22.
8% to E2.07, with adjusted EBITDA that is down 20.2% to E1.45bn, i.e. a margin that is down 3.3 points at 27.9%.

Sales fell by 10.9% (-4.1% in organic terms) to E5.17bn, with "strong organic development of the Healthcare business sector partly compensated for the decline in sales and earnings in Life Science and Electronics".

Belén Garijo, Chair of the Executive Board and CEO of Merck, said, "We remain disciplined and on track to achieve not only our fiscal 2023 but also our medium-term targets. In 2024, we expect to return to organic sales growth."
