BMW: sets ethics guidelines for artificial intelligence

(CercleFinance.com) - BMW, the world's largest premium carmaker, on Monday disclosed guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence (AI), which has recently become a central element of its digital transformation process.


The code of ethics comes as part of "Project AI," an initiative that the auto giant launched in 2018 to ensure that smart data, analytics and machine learning are used "ethically" and "efficiently," the group said.

The code of conduct covers seven principles for the development and application of artificial intelligence, spanning from privacy and data governance to environmental and societal well-being, it added.

"The BMW Group is committed to developing and using AI applications that promote the well-being of customers, employees and partners," the company notably wrote in the guidelines.
