BMW: electromobility projects in Mexico

(CercleFinance.com) - BMW announced on Friday that it plans to accelerate production of its electric vehicles worldwide, a move that could help it reach its goal of selling one in two electric vehicles by 2030.


The German carmaker said models from its new "Neue Klasse" electromobility platform would also be produced at its San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico.

This site will be the subject of an investment of 800 million euros for the integration of the fully electric models of the "Neue Klasse" concept and the construction of a high-voltage battery assembly line.

The project is expected to create around 1,000 new jobs at the plant.
