Novartis: Sandoz to expand antibiotic production

(CercleFinance.com) - Sandoz, the generic pharmaceuticals subsidiary of Novartis, announced on Monday that it plans to expand its antibiotics production facilities in Austria.


The company plans to invest 50 million euros to expand its production capacity for penicillins, the world's most commonly used antibiotics.

The implementation of new manufacturing technology should enable the Kundl, Austria site to better meet rising demand and thus offset rising unit costs due to higher energy prices.

Seemingly a drop in the ocean, this news however has little impact on the share, woth it actually down almost 1% after lunch.
