Ageas: down after 9m results

(CercleFinance.com) - Ageas shares are down nearly 3% in Brussels today, despite the presentation by the Belgian insurance company of a net profit of 704.
4 million euros at the end of September, up 24% compared to the first nine months of 2021.

Excluding the RPN impact, however, its 9m earnings fell 18% to 566.9 million euros, penalised in Q3 by net capital losses in Asia and inflation in Europe, which amounted to 175 million euros.

Management said that Ageas continued to perform well commercially and operationally in the third quarter. This was reflected in sustained growth in life premium income in China and an increase in non-life business overall.
