Weight Watchers: annual forecasts increased.

(CercleFinance.com) - After a second quarter that exceeded expectations Weight Watchers has raised its targets.

The group now aims for EPS in a range of 1.57 dollar to 1.67 dollar at end-2017, up from its previously announced range of 1.4 dollar to 1.5 dollar.

This increase came after a quarter that was marked by a sharp increase in net income, which rose from 30.5 million dollars in April-June 2016 (46 cents per share) to 45.2 million dollars (67 cents per share). The consensus was much less optimistic, expecting EPS to increase to "only" 51 cents.

Meanwhile, group revenues came in at 341.7 million dollars, above the consensus of 334 million dollars. The Weight watchers share is currently soaring - up over 26% in New York.
