UPS: electrical truck delivery project
(CercleFinance.com) - UPS has announced that it plans to deploy 50 electric delivery trucks at an acquisition cost that is similar to conventional gasoline trucks, which is in the absence of any subsidies.
In this project the American logistics and express messaging giant is collaborating with Workhorse Group. The vehicles will be tested first on urban roads, including those in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles.
"After this deployment of real-life tests, UPS and Workhorse Group will fine-tune the concept in time to deploy a larger fleet in 2019 and beyond, the Atlanta-based company said.
