Target: acquires supply chain firm Grand Junction.
(CercleFinance.com) - Target has said that it has agreed to acquire Grand Junction, a San Francisco-based transportation technology company, so as to improve its delivery capabilities.
The US retailer said Grand Junction's technology and algorithms will help the company to provide faster, more reliable and convenient services for guests, while strengthening the group's supply chain.
Grand Junction offers a software platform that is used by retailers, distributors and third-party logistics professionals to manage local deliveries through a network of over 700 carriers.
Currently, Grand Junction is working with Target on its same-day delivery pilot at the Target store in New York's Tribeca neighborhood.
