Pfizer: beats expectations in Q4
(CercleFinance.com) - Published on Tuesday before Wall Street opens, Pfizer's Q4 results exceeded the consensus.
The US pharmaceutical giant generated EPS of 2.02 dollars over the period, against 13 cents a year earlier. Adjusted EPS came in at 62 cents, up 15 cents y-o-y and against 56 cents predicted by analysts.
Meanwhile, revenues rose from 13.63 billion dollars in Q4 2016 to 13.7 billion dollars this year, while the consensus was looking for 13.67 billion dollars.
Pfizer expects EPS excluding extraordinary items of 2.9 dollars to 3 dollars, with revenues in the range 53.5 billion to 55.5 billion dollars for the new fiscal year. Meanwhile, the market expects respectively 2.78 dollars and 53.82 billion dollars.
