(CercleFinance.com) - Keenly awaited, Netflix's second quarter accounts have not disappointed investors.
The media group reported Q2 net income of 65.6 million dollars, or 15 cents a share, compared with 40.76 million dollars, or 9 cents a share, a year earlier. Although analysts were slightly more optimistic, expecting 16 cents on average, revenues, which rose 32.3% to 2.79 billion dollars, exceeded the consensus of 2.76 billion dollars.
Above all, Netflix reached the symbolic mark of 100 million subscribers, with, at the last count, 103.95 million subscribers, 1.07 million new subscribers in North America and 4.14 million in international markets, compared with 631,000 and 2.63 million expected respectively.
