Microsoft: strategic alliance with Halliburton.
(CercleFinance.com) - US software giant Microsoft has announced plans to enter into a strategic alliance with oilfield services provider Halliburton to drive digital transformation across the oil and gas industry.
As a first step in the alliance, Halliburton has deployed its DecisionSpace 365 geosciences suite on Microsoft's Azure, enabling real-time data streaming from IoT devices.
Microsoft Azure will also become Halliburton's preferred public cloud provider for iEnergy, an exploration and production (E&P) cloud linking the oilfield to the office.
