McDonald's: exceeds expectations in the 2nd quarter.

(CercleFinance.com) - McDonald's publishes net profits up 28% to 1.
4 billion dollars for last quarter, representing an EPS up 36% to 1.70 dollars, or around eight cents more than analysts' average estimates.

Down 3% (-2% excluding currency exchange effects) to just over six billion dollars, revenue for the fast-food giant has been affected by its strategic franchising initiatives.

On a comparable basis, global McDonald's sales increased by 6.6% in the second quarter (+3.9% in the United States) reflecting a positive evolution in the number of visits for each segment.
