Mastercard: acquires some of Nets' businesses
(CercleFinance.com) - Mastercard has announced an agreement to acquire the majority of the European payment solutions group Nets' corporate services businesses, for 2.
85 billion euros (about 3.19 billion dollars).
The acquisition includes clearing and instant payment services, as well as e-billing solutions. "The addition of Nets technology and teams strengthens Mastercard's existing account-to-account (A2A) capabilities," Mastercard said.
Subject to regulatory conditions and approvals, the transaction is expected to be finalised in the first half of 2020. Mastercard expects that it will have a dilutive impact for up to 24 months after its finalisation, mainly due to integration costs.
